Super Fun Text-Based RPG Time!
Hello, all! This is my first topic! Yay! I wasn't sure if I should put this in Other Games, so I though I'd test it with the lounge.
Basically, what happens is:
1) You create a character.
This will be anything, really. Just do age, name (although you'll probably want to do your own), and maybe some other characteristics, like hobbies, wealth, and likes/dislikes. You do this in a separate post from the actions and so forth.
2) You start doing things in the text-based world.
You've created a character, and now, you can go on an adventure (magical or otherwise). You can do quests, duke it out with other people, and other stuff.
That's it! I can sort of narrate this every now and then, but I think people can give other people quests.
Also, to get a quest, make a post that says:
[Your name] is looking for a quest.
You can also start stores, assuming you find things to sell.
Current Players
Quest Board
1) Find the lost treasure of my dog Ripley. Reward: Whatever you find, you can keep.
2) Assassinate secret government agent man. Reward: $3500
3) Get the secret files from the French President. Reward: $4000
Sawybean will narrate any of these quests, but if one is taken, no one else may take it. You may work in a party of as many people as you would like.
Mission = Taken

Jessica says hi to Mary, a young child who she wishes to take under her wing. She asks Mary if she knows where her mother is, and when Mary says no, Jessica gives her a small dagger and takes her into the mountains to find the Magic Red Diamond, said to give unimaginable powers to whoever finds it.

Re: Super Fun Text-Based RPG Time!
Mary goes looking for the lost Toilet of the Gillians. You heard that it can flush away anything to anywhere. It was last seen in the meuseum of Nort fifty two years ago, before the invasion of the HuHus. After the war, it has not been seen. Shall you go to the museum to look for clues? Enter the land of the HuHus? Go back to the land of Gilly? Or head south on a lonely mysterious road?
Re: Super Fun Text-Based RPG Time!
Well, you can do your diamond thing.
Who wants to find the toilet??

Re: Super Fun Text-Based RPG Time!
Jessica and Mary come across Super Saturn in their travels, who spins a tale of the Toilet of the Gillians. They decide it sounds much cooler than some dumb diamond, so they decide to follow Saturn to the museum to look for clues. Mary insists on buying a lollipop from the museum shop first, which she can do because she's rich.

Re: Super Fun Text-Based RPG Time!
Guys, I'm going to be in here all the time because I love RPGs and telling stories.
Mary, Jessica, and Saturn see Taylor crouched on the ground outside of the museum as they leave, organizing her stamp collection. They didn't find any clues inside, so they decide to postpone their quest for a bit and see what the weird girl on the ground was up to. As they walk up to her, she hisses at them, trying to protect her precious stamps. They stay a cautious distance away from her. Mary, being the shortest, therefore the closest to the ground, therefore having the best view of the stamps, sees one with a toilet. She screams, "TOILET!!!", and as she does, the lollipop falls out of her mouth. She starts crying and insists that Saturn buys her a new one. However, since he doesn't need wealth, he has no money. Eventually, Jessica has to take her inside and buy her another one.
They come back out to see Saturn talking to Taylor, pointing at the stamp in question. Taylor seems to be explaining where it came from and it's history.
Also, hiding behind a sign in front of the museum is Sawybean (the Matt version), waiting for Saturn to stop talking so he can challenge him to a fight.

Re: Super Fun Text-Based RPG Time!
Super Saturn sees the doppelganger Sawybean and recognizes him as Dr. Pipsqueak, the vile villain of the North. He escaped from prision again and is masquerading as the town doctor! He's pink nose hairs always give him away though.
The begin to duel. Super Saturn sends him a super punch and he flies into the museum, with broken ribs.

Re: Super Fun Text-Based RPG Time!
The museum curator comes out, extremely angry, holding Dr. Pipsqueak by the back of his shirt. He also holds the Mona Lisa, broken in half from the point where Dr. Pipsqueak had smashed into it. Pipsqueak remains relatively unharmed, because of how resilient he is (and his fast-growing rib bones), but the museum has been pretty wrecked from his impact and the resulting explosion.
The curator (named Timothy) looks around at the four people in their frozen positions: Saturn, with his fist still outstretched, Taylor, flung over her stamps in an effort to protect them from the blast, Mary, sucking on her lollipop, and Jessica, tying Mary's shoes. Quickly they all jump up, Taylor carefully but deftly packing away her stamps, and run away. Timothy tries to run after them, but he's very old and can't keep up. Pipsqueak runs away to plan his next attack on Saturn.
Meanwhile, the group of four find a willow tree to hide under and sit down. They need to find out what the toilet stamp means, how to find the toilet, and why Pipsqueak is after Saturn.

Parti hides in the branches of the tree, looking down at the group below. She is less interested in Taylor's dumb stamps than she is in the money they all carry.

Re: Super Fun Text-Based RPG Time!
The group continues chatting, unaware of Parti perched in the trees above. She's almost found when Mary tries to climb the tree, but Mary falls down very quickly and Jessica tells her not to climb, she might get hurt.
The four are in a deep discussion about where and how Taylor acquired her stamp. Saturn has confirmed that the toilet on the stamp is indeed the Toilet of the Gillians. Taylor explains that she found it in a small marketplace in Trisgofalora, a quaint little seaside town. Saturn is excited by this news, as Trisgofalora (commonly shortened to Trisgo) is the birthplace of one of the builders of the Toilet. He produces a map from his pocket, and the four of them (three, really, since Mary is digging up worms) plot the best and safest route to Trisgo to find out more about this toilet.

Re: Super Fun Text-Based RPG Time!
Emma leaves the museum disheveled from the blast. She was an artist who was just beginning to make it big, showcasing her work in a real museum. Thankfully, none of her paintings were badly damaged (although the frame had fell off one of them). She carefully put them all into her suitcase before shaking hands with Timothy, who was still gasping for breath from all the running, and leaving. She didn't want her work in a museum that got blown up, even if it was infrequently. She set off down the road to find a new place to put her paintings.
On the side of the road, Emma comes across a plunger. She feels pulled towards it, oddly, so she goes to pick it up. It seems relatively clean and plungers are always useful, so she carries it along with her. If nothing else, she can sell it.

Re: Super Fun Text-Based RPG Time!
There are two routes to Trisgo. One is through the Bobcat Forest, which is actually relativity safe minus the chance of ambush be theives (Saturn can handle bobcats), or go under the forest into the Drooling Caverns, filled with spiders, lava, and poisonous mushrooms. Good news: there are cool gems in there they can find.
Saturn leaves the choice up to Jessica. Parti listens intently to her choice.

Re: Super Fun Text-Based RPG Time!
Jessica is torn. On the one hand, she wants to take the safer route, and they have plenty of money to spare, what with most of them being extremely upper class. But in the Drooling Caverns, they could find the Magical Red Diamond on the way. Jessica had been dreaming about this diamond for years, and about all the different powers it could offer. However, spiders, lava, and poisonous mushrooms aren't the best conditions for anyone, let alone a group of four with a seven-year old.
Jessica contemplates having the group split up: two of them going down the Bobcat Forest route, two of them going down the Drooling Caverns route.
Then she realizes that's how people get forever separated and die, so she figures they can first go through the Bobcat Forest and then come back through the Drooling Caverns. Safety first. Danger second.
At the same time, Emma is being faced with the same decision. She's heard that there is a wonderful art community in Trisgo, and that's her next destination. She sees a group walking towards where she stands at the fork in the road, and waits for them to approach to see if she can join them.
