It is the year 2097.

Last year Professor Saturn became a household name, after winning the Nobel Prize for Physics by proving the existence of Limbo - a plane of reality souls may be sent after they die - and for constructing the Theory of Resurrection, which states it should be possible to return souls to the Universe using a Nuclear and Dark-Photon Extraction Device, or NADPED.

But that was last year. This year Professor Saturn shall move past theory. He has isolated an area of Limbo he calls Gardia, which is an eighth-dimensional vector space where the most energetic souls would find equilibrium. In practice, by training a NADPED device with Gardia coordinates, Professor Saturn expects that he should be able to extract the soul of a very prominent and once influential dead human.

And so he built the machine. And he turned it on.

Data pooled to life on his RGX 50MIL Retina Monitor. It was the voices of lost souls.

"And I will stop when the crying ceases..."

"Ambulavi. Ego non videret. Cecidi."

"Tā shuí sǐle..."

Their words flowed like an ocean current, with rage, despair, fear, regret, and envy.

Professor Saturn went to his keyboard and typed: MY NAME IS SATURN.

The stream of voices stopped at once.

I AM LOOKING FOR A SOUL TO REVIVE. WILL A SOUL PLEASE STEP INTO THE PLASMA-NUTRINO DISCHARGE BEAM TO RETURN TO LIFE. I HAVE PREPARED A NICE BODY OF A RUSSIAN FEMALE THAT DIED OF NATURAL CAUSES. YOU WILL BE TESTED ON. PLEASE, NO MORE THAN FIVE SPECIMENS TODAY.

His monitor remained quiet for a minute, before a cacophony of confusion erupted onto his display.

HOW ABOUT YOU VOTE ON IT AND GET BACK TO ME?

The dead each thought this was a good idea, so they convene to decide who should get revived.

Each person will get three votes. At the end of the first day, the five people with the most votes will be revived. After that, these five people will begin a game of backwards-mafia, where they will vote each day to REVIVE a dead person from history.

Here is how the game will work:

Voting will begin in the morning to give time for puns.

On the first day, each player gets three votes. The five people with the most votes will come alive.

After that, these people will get to decide who gets revived next, at a rate of one person per day. All people in Limbo may post in the thread still. The results of the voting will be announced at night, and the person with the most votes will be revived at the end of the day. After than, night will begin.

At night, any night actions may be performed BY LIVING PLAYERS. If there is a mafia member alive, they may opt to perform a kill on a living player, removing them from the game. (They will NOT be sent to Limbo).

The game will proceed in this fashion. The mafia seeks to be the majority of living players, thus controlling the vote, and preventing town members from being revived. The town seeks to revive all of it's members. They will win if all town has been revived (even if they have since afterwards died) and all mafia is either stuck in Limbo or is dead. If all players have been revived with no winner, the game will proceed into regular mafia with the remaining living players, voting each day to lynch one person. The team that eliminates the other at this point will win.

Of course Saturn is a genius in his story.

This sounds pretty complicated but I can't wait to see how it plays out!

Let's just move past the fact Saturn won the nobel prize.

Do we know the times for morning and night?

Okay. Voting is open NOW.

Each person has three votes. They can vote for who ever how ever many times they want. You can vote for yourself three times or for just one person once or whatever.

At 8pm PST, 11PM EST, the five people with the most votes will get to step into the plasma beam. I discourage ties today.

Few notes:
Don't quote your role PM. No screenshots either.
Don't PM people you are not supposed to.
There was no first night, so there were no night actions last night.
You are allowed inactives. I don't care.
You can vote for 'no revive.' If this gets the majority of votes, no one will be revived. If this gets a number of votes on the first day that is large enough, only four people will be revived.

Consider if you want to be revived. Revived people are at risk of being killed if the mafia is alive as well. Also, remember you can only use power roles if you have been revived. Remember the mafia wants to be revived no matter what.

This is hard. I vote for myself three times... i guess...

I think I'll save my votes for now. I'm not really sure whether or not I want to be revived right away. I didn't even consider the fact that it might be better to stay in limbo for a while until Saturn's post.

So yeah this is basically a useless post since I'm not gonna really do anything...

I love this new format but I hate that I have no idea what strategies make sense. I'm not even sure if I understand exactly what's going on, so, Saturn if you can tell me if I understand correctly that will be great. So, here is my understanding of what's going on:

Today, we each get 3 votes to revive people. 5 people will be revived. Only revived people can use power roles. So, if we don't revive any mafia members, then they can't kill anyone.
Overnight, those 5 revived people will get to use their power roles and if a mafia member has been revived, they will kill one of the other revived people overnight. If you're not revived, you can't be killed.
In the morning, you will tell us who is dead like normal and that person is completely removed from the game.
During the day tomorrow, only the revived people will vote to choose one person to revive? More than one? Or does everyone vote? Are unrevived people allowed to talk even if they can't vote?

That is all correct.

One person will ne revived per day after today. Limbo players can still talk, but not vote.

Today, though, everyone votes.

So, basically there's no way to kill people that have been revived except by night actions? So the town has to hope that there's enough vigilante type characters to kill any revived mafia members?

This game makes my brain hurt because I don't understand what strategy to employ for finding town members versus mafia members.

I would think mafia members would want to be revived first so they are not powerless.

Well I think would be best if I wasn't revived first night so, I'll hold off until something seems smart.
